I deactivated my facebook, so one thing I’m curious about is that is there are difference between someone deactivating their facebook, and them blocking you? Because in either case, you won’t be able to see them I presume.

There is, from what I am aware. When you go to your friends list, someone who has deactivated their account will still be there. When you click on their name, a pop up comes up that says their account has been deactivates.

I presume that if you block someone, they can no longer be on your friends list.

^ I agree with the person above. Also, apparently FB sometimes has to to maintenance and sometimes peoples profiles go down as well for a time. I know Ive ran into this on some dating sites. You can go back and forth but really it doesn’t do any good because you simply cannot and will never know. The best you can do is to move on and invest in the friends you do have and making new friends that dont do something like this. Of course, easier said then done.

I have had several friends deactivate accounts, and it clearly says that they have deactivated them, so I don’t think that he blocked me at all. I just think if you’re going to get rid of your account, friending someone just prior is a lot of effort, and especially talking with them.

Sometimes things come up, so something may have happened unexpectedly that prompted him to deactivate, and it could have nothing to do with you. Sometimes people deactivate when they have a huge project to work on or a major exam to study for, or don’t want potential employers to see their profile. I would find it a bit awkward to add someone and then deactivate shortly after, but if I wanted to stay in touch, I would make sure to get their contact information first.

Yeah. I don’t honestly think it has anything to do with me, but damn it. I missed talking to him.

I think I threw out everything that quirky said over on FB… I think the only way that I could see myself doing it was if someone else unexpected tried to start drama with me using FaceBook and it was just easier to shut it down promptly than to deal with them any longer. Maybe something like that came up?

Maybe. He did have a post from August that said he was getting rid of facebook, so I assumed when he friended me that he decided his time off from FB was over….guess not :/
